Mercedes-AMG launched a new entry-level version of the GT sportscar which trades the V8 for a four-cylinder engine. The Mercedes-AMG GT 43 also loses the all-wheel-drive system being exclusively available in rear-wheel-drive form. It features a redesigned body distinguishing it from the more potent versions. The first four-cylinder AMG GT in history is described as a car for purists. Despite lacking in the power department, Mercedes describes it as an agile cornering artist with extremely dynamic handling and a lot of driving fun, thanks to the lighter engine and the rear-wheel-drive setup.

2025 Mercedes-AMG GT43 Coupe: Design and Features

The GT 43 chassis stands out from the others thanks to its narrower tracks compared to the GT 53 and 63 versions. As part of its noticeable facelift, the Mercedes-AMG GT 43 Coupe gets a new front bumper with bigger intakes in place of the grille extension. Front and rear fenders are narrower, and side gills are cut down, contributing to a more aerodynamic profile. Most notably, the quad-round tailpipes replace the earlier trapezoidal ones, and the vertical outlets have been removed, giving the rear bumper a more streamlined appearance. Among the many customisation possibilities offered by Mercedes-AMG are wheels ranging in size from 19 inches on the base model to 21 inches on the top trim level, a fixed rear wing, and plenty of colour options.

As you step inside the Mercedes-AMG GT 43, you'll notice the standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the MBUX infotainment system's 11.9-inch touchscreen. Nappa leather AMG sports seats are standard, but for those who want to step up their driving experience, there are performance-driven AMG Performance seats available as an option.

2025 Mercedes-AMG GT43 Coupe: Engine

With 421bhp and 501Nm of torque, the 2025 AMG GT 43 is equipped with a powerful 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. This engine, when paired with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G gearbox, forgoes the traditional torque converter in favour of a modern wet starting clutch, which reduces mass inertia and weight for improved responsiveness and agility.

The electric exhaust gas turbocharger is a state-of-the-art innovation borrowed from Formula 1 that distinguishes this engine. This turbocharger, which is run by the onboard 48-volt electrical system that powers the belt-driven starter generator, gives an exciting acceleration boost with a short surge of 14bhp.

The 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 43 has impressive performance figures, including a 0–100 km/h time of 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 280 km/h.
