The new 911 Turbo S (992.2) has finally arrived in India, priced from Rs 3.8 crore (ex-showroom). It was unveiled earlier this year at the Munich Motor Show in both coupe and cabriolet styles. However, only the coupe version has reached our shores. At its core, the new 911 Turbo S features a T-Hybrid system, combining a 3.6-litre flat-six engine with twin electric turbochargers and a compact 1.9kWh battery. This setup delivers an astonishing 701bhp of maximum power and 800Nm of torque, which is a 60bhp increase over the previous model, making the new 911 the most powerful version of Porsche’s iconic sports car so far.

The new 911 Turbo S stands out with a wider stance than the standard Carrera, complemented by an active front diffuser with integrated air curtains, prominent air intakes ahead of the rear wheel arches, a sculpted ducktail wing, and striking centre-lock alloy wheels measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. The car's tyres are 10mm wider than the previous model, while Turbonite bronze-grey trim highlights its exclusivity.
The Turbonite motif extends throughout the interior, appearing on the seats, steering wheel, dashboard, door trims, and even the stopwatch. Features-wise, the car includes a fully digital driver display, a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 18-way electrically adjustable sports seats, and dual-zone climate control. There is also a wide range of optional upgrades on offer.
The 911 Turbo S demonstrated its engineering prowess at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, posting a lap of 7:03.92, almost 14 seconds faster than the previous generation.
The car’s performance arsenal includes 420mm front and 410mm rear carbon-ceramic brakes, the new Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), and a lightweight sports exhaust system shaved by 6.8kg with titanium components.
