Jeep has introduced the updated Cherokee for the U.S. market with several significant upgrades, the most notable of which is its hybrid setup. A 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine is paired with two electric motors and an e-CVT to deliver 207bhp and 312Nm. The 0-98km/h sprint time is 8.3 seconds, while the estimated fuel efficiency stands at 15.7km/l. The SUV claims to offer a range of over 800 kilometres on a single tank. In India, Jeep does not offer the Cherokee. Its current lineup includes the Wrangler, the Compass, the Meridian, and the Grand Cherokee.

The SUV sits on Stellantis’s STLA Large platform, and measures 4,778mm in length, 2,123mm in width (including mirrors), and 1,717mm in height. The wheelbase has been stretched to 2,870mm, roughly 152mm longer than the previous-generation model, resulting in around 30% more cargo space.

The 2026 Jeep Cherokee boasts an Active Drive 4x4 system paired with four Selec-Terrain drive modes (Auto, Sport, Snow, and Sand/Mud). Other highlights include 203mm of ground clearance, and approach, departure, and breakover angles of 19.6°, 29.4°, and 18.8°, respectively.
As for the design, the updated Cherokee embraces a more upright, squared-off, and rugged look. It features sharp, purposeful lines, squared-off LED headlights, and U-shaped daytime running lights. The muscular silhouette completes the modern yet heritage-driven appearance, showcasing a combination of timeless Jeep character and contemporary design cues.
The interior of the 2026 Cherokee has grown in size and comfort. Besides a substantial increase in cargo space, the SUV offers several optional features (dual-pane panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, among others) to allow customers to customise their SUV as per their taste. It comes standard with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen running Jeep’s latest Uconnect 5 software, keyless entry with push-button start, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
