For drivers not yet ready for full electrification, Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that it will offer the new GLB with a mild-hybrid setup. The upcoming GLB will feature advanced 48V mild hybrid technology, paired with the new 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, also found in the CLA. The 48V system will enable limited electric-only driving, supported by a 1.3kWh battery, with the electric motor seamlessly integrated into the 8-speed DCT gearbox. The modern gasoline engine in the GLB will launch with three power levels. Buyers will get to choose between front-wheel drive or the more capable 4MATIC all-wheel drive.
