It is offered in two versions: the GLB 250+ EQ Technology (Long Range), which features a single rear-wheel-drive motor producing 264bhp and 335Nm, with a WLTP range of up to 631 kilometres; and the GLB 350 4MATIC EQ Technology (Performance AWD), which adds a second motor for all-wheel drive, generating 344bhp and 515Nm, while covering up to 614 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. Mercedes has confirmed that the GLB will initially launch as an electric vehicle EV), with additional battery-electric variants, including an entry-level version, set to join the lineup later. For drivers not yet ready for full electrification, Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that it will offer the new GLB with a mild-hybrid setup. The upcoming GLB will feature advanced 48V mild hybrid technology, paired with the new 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, also found in the CLA. The 48V system will enable limited electric-only driving, supported by a 1.3kWh battery, with the electric motor seamlessly integrated into the 8-speed DCT gearbox. The modern gasoline engine in the GLB will launch with three power levels. Buyers will get to choose between front-wheel drive or the more capable 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

The new GLB maintains its signature boxy, upright SUV shape but is now noticeably larger. It has grown by 98mm in length and 27mm in width, and features a 60mm longer wheelbase. Though slightly lower (14mm decrease in height), the SUV looks sharper than before. The front design is inspired by the CLA, while there are unique grille designs for the electric and ICE versions, complemented by slender, connected headlights. Other highlights include flush door handles, subtle fender flares, and a linked taillight with the signature three-point-star illumination pattern.
