Renault has brought back the Duster in India, marking the return of a familiar name to the mid-size SUV space. Pre-bookings for the new Duster are now open at a token amount of Rs 21,000, with the price reveal scheduled for mid March 2026. First launched in 2012, the Duster played a key role in shaping the segment before it was discontinued in 2022.
The model now returns in its third-generation form with petrol-only engine options for the Indian market. With a new platform, updated styling and a more modern cabin, the 2026 Renault Duster aims to reconnect with buyers who remember what the badge once stood for, while also marking Renault’s push to strengthen its presence in India once again.

Once prices for the new Duster are announced, deliveries are expected to begin soon after, with early bookers likely to be first in line as the rollout gets underway.
The new Duster looks sharper than before but still keeps its SUV identity intact. The front gets eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs, a wide grille with Duster lettering and a silver-finished bumper insert. Black cladding runs along the sides, giving it a tough stance, while roof rails come fitted as standard. At the rear, the LED tail-lamps are joined by a light bar, along with a roof-mounted spoiler, rear washer and wiper.
Inside, Duster has moved on from the old-school layout. The dashboard design follows the global model and feels more modern. A free-standing touchscreen sits at the centre, paired with a digital instrument cluster. Leatherette upholstery is used on the seats and door pads, while the centre console offers an adjustable front armrest with storage. Rear passengers also get an armrest with cupholders, adding to everyday comfort.
The feature list is where the new Duster makes a strong step forward. It gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging and dual-zone climate control. The powered tailgate adds convenience, while the front seats offer six-way electric adjustment and ventilation.
On the safety side, the SUV comes with six airbags, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake and Level 2 driver assistance systems, making it the first Renault in India to offer ADAS.
The 2026 Renault Duster comes with a choice of petrol engines. At the top of the range is a 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with two electric motors, known as the E-Tech 160 setup, producing 160bhp and 172Nm. Buyers also get a 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, branded Turbo TCe 160, which puts out 160bhp and 280Nm and is offered with both a six-speed manual and a DCT gearbox. The third option is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, called TCe 100, delivering 100bhp and 160Nm and available only with a six-speed manual.
Prices are expected to fall between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), putting the Duster up against popular rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Hyryder, Tata Sierra and Maruti Suzuki Victoris.
