Tesla has launched the flagship Performance AWD variant of the Model Y in Europe, which has several upgrades over the standard version. Tesla has not disclosed the exact battery capacity or output figures for the new Model Y Performance, but the variant is claimed to be faster than the AWD Long Range version sold overseas and the RWD Long Range model offered in India, with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.5 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h, while the range stands up to 580 kilometres. Tesla claims 243 kilometres of range can be added in 15 minutes through fast charging.

In India, Tesla currently offers the Model Y in rear-wheel drive configuration only. The prices of the electric SUV range between Rs 59.89 lakh (Standard) and Rs 67.89 lakh (Long Range).

Visually, the Model Y Performance distinguishes itself from the standard variants with a more aggressive exterior design. It features revised bumpers, a carbon fibre rear spoiler, exclusive 21-inch Arachnid 2.0 alloy wheels, and red brake callipers.

The new Model Y Performance is set to be built at Tesla's Berlin factory, with deliveries starting in Europe in October 2025. Tesla has not made any announcement, but industry rumours indicate that the range-topping model will make its way to India sometime in the near future.
The India-spec Model Y is offered in two rear-wheel drive variants. The Standard model tips scales at 1,928 kg, while the Long Range model weighs 1,901 kg.
