Tesla has increased the range on the top-spec variant of its sole offering in India — the Model Y. The Long Range RWD variant of the car now gets a WLTP-claimed range of 661 kilometres, which is up from 622 kilometres earlier. Notably, the carmaker hasn’t made any change to the price of the said variant. Here are more details about the 2025 Tesla Model Y.
The India-spec Model Y is offered in two trims — Rear-Wheel Drive and Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive. Tesla does not usually reveal the battery and motor specs of its cars, and puts out claimed range and claimed 0-100kmph time figures instead.

The base trim gets a WLTP-claimed range of 500 kilometres, while the top-spec trim now gets a claimed range of 661 kilometres. Tesla claims a 0-100kmph time of 5.9 seconds for the base variant, and 5.6 seconds for the higher-spec variant.

The Model Y follows a minimalist approach to design, both on the outside as well as the inside. It gets smooth-flowing body panels and connected lights at either end. It sits on 19-inch alloy wheels. The cabin features a rather bland setup with minimal use of physical controls. There’s a large touchscreen in the middle of the dashboard that controls most of the functions.

Key features of the Tesla Model Y include a centrally-mounted 15.4-inch touchscreen unit, reclining rear seats, powered, heated, and ventilated front seats, a 9-speaker sound system, dashcam, an 8-inch rear infotainment screen, ADAS functionalities, and more. You can also opt for Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Capability (FSD) for an additional Rs 6 lakh, though it is not yet functional in India, and is expected to be offered in the future via OTA updates.

The Tesla Model Y price starts at Rs 58.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the entry-level variant, and at Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the higher-spec variant. The carmaker demands extra for choice of exterior and interior colours.
