Aston Martin has unveiled the DB12 S, featuring sharper dynamics, increased power, and a more muscular design compared to the standard model. The new flagship grand tourer joins the DBX SUV and Vantage sports car, continuing the brand’s tradition of using the ‘S’ badge for high-performance variants. It is available to order in the UK in both coupe and Volante (convertible) body styles. However, there is no official confirmation yet regarding its launch in India. The standard Aston Martin DB12 is currently available in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price of Rs 4.34 crore.
Commenting on the DB12 S, Aston Martin Director of Vehicle Performance, Simon Newton said, ‘The technology we introduced with the DB12 now allows us exceptional scope to explore a new depth of character and capability within the same vehicle platform. With DB12 S, we have carefully engineered a host of detailed changes, which preserve signature levels of refinement, boost vehicle performance, and amplify driver engagement. Let's look at the key highlights of the new Aston Martin DB12.
At its core, the DB12 S has a potent iteration of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that churns out a maximum power of 690bhp, marking an increase of 20bhp over the standard DB12. The torque stands at 800Nm, while the gearbox is an 8-speed torque converter.

Aston Martin has offered enhanced performance with the DB12 S, thanks to increased power, faster gear shifts, and an enhanced launch control system. These upgrades have slashed acceleration times, with the coupe sprinting from 0–97km/h in 3.4 seconds, and the Volante following closely at 3.5 seconds. While the top speed remains unchanged at 325km/h.

As for performance, the DB12 S gets a serious upgrade with quicker gear changes and a new throttle map that improves pedal sensitivity and control. There's also a stainless steel quad-exit exhaust that delivers a richer, more aggressive sound profile. Buyers can also opt for a titanium exhaust system that reduces overall weight by 11.7 kg and increases exhaust volume by 1.5 dB.
Alongside the power upgrade, the Aston Martin DB12 S gets major chassis improvements for improved handling and ride quality. It now comes standard with Carbon Ceramic Brakes, offering stronger stopping power, better heat resistance, and a 27 kg reduction in unsprung weight. The car also benefits from recalibrated Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers, a stiffer rear anti-roll bar, and refined wheel geometry for sharper dynamics. In addition, the DB12 S features an advanced electronic differential (E-Diff) and an updated Corner Braking Control system.

In terms of design, the DB12 S sets itself apart with a more aggressive and purposeful stance. Key highlights include a dual-element splitter, functional bonnet louvres, gloss black side sill extensions, a revised rear diffuser, a fixed rear spoiler, and a signature red glass enamel ‘S’ badge on the fenders.

Inside, the DB12 S features custom leather and Alcantara upholstery, red anodised detailing on key controls, and new Sport Plus seats as standard. The lightweight carbon fibre performance seats are available as an option.
