Audi A6 petrol gets Matrix treatment

Audi A6 35TFSI with additional equipment, such as Matrix LED headlamps and Bose audio system, launched at Rs 52.75 lakh.

Roughly a year ago, Audi launched the facelifted A6 sedan in India. And if you remember, at the time of the launch it was only offered with a diesel engine in a single variant called the A6 Matrix – mainly because it came with Matrix LED headlamps. Soon after that Audi launched the petrol version of the new A6, albeit it missed out on Matrix LEDs and a number of other features. However, now with the customer interest tilting back in favour of petrol cars, Audi has given Matrix treatment to the A6 petrol as well. Priced at Rs 52.75 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi and Maharashtra), the new model is dubbed the A6 35 TFSI Matrix.

Apart from the addition of Matrix LED headlamps, and a few extra features and equipment such as the Bose audio system with 14 speakers, the newly launched variant remains more or less the same to the A6 35TFSI that was launched last year. Powering the car is the same 1.8-litre, in-line four cylinder turbo-charged petrol unit that develops 188bhp of maximum power and 320Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. 0-100km/h will be dismissed in 7.9 seconds aboard the A6 Matrix 35TFSI, claims Audi.

Competition for the new Audi A6 Matrix 35TFSI mainly includes the recently launched BMW 5 Series 520i and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class E200.
