Audi has launched the SQ8 SUV in India at Rs 1.77 crore (ex-showroom), bringing a proper V8-powered performance SUV to the lineup. What makes this stand out is that it uses the same engine as the flagship RS Q8. You get the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol motor, but in a slightly toned-down setup. Even then, it delivers a strong 500bhp and 770Nm of torque, which is more than enough for serious pace on Indian roads. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, while Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system, along with all-wheel steering and adaptive air suspension, ensures the power is delivered cleanly.

The SQ8 can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.1 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h.
The SQ8 builds on the standard Q8’s design but adds a sharper, sport-focused edge. Up front, you get a bold single-frame grille with a detailed insert pattern and a silver surround that instantly stands out. The front bumper looks more aggressive, thanks to larger air intakes that hint at the SUV’s performance intent.

On the sides, the 21-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels fill up the arches well, while the ‘S’ badge on the front fender adds a subtle performance cue. Audi has also used darker trim elements to give the SUV a more purposeful stance. At the rear, a continuous LED light bar stretches across the tailgate, giving it a clean and modern look, especially at night.

This SUV will be available in eight colour options to choose from. For added exclusivity, buyers can opt for five additional Audi Exclusive shades.
The Audi SQ8’s cabin will feel both premium and sporty. Leather and Alcantara upholstery, along with aluminium inlays across the dashboard. The seats and the flat-bottom steering wheel carry S badging, while stainless steel pedals add to the sporty feel.
In terms of features, the SQ8 comes equipped with a twin-screen MMI infotainment system, a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio setup, and a 12.3-inch digital driver display. You also get multi-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and powered seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. A head-up display and a Bang & Olufsen sound system further enhance the driving experience.

Audi had already opened bookings for the SQ8 ahead of launch. Customers could reserve the SUV with a token amount of Rs 5 lakh through the official Audi website or the myAudi Connect platform.
