Auto Expo 2023: Kia India has teased the brand-new EV9 concept on its social media pages ahead of its debut in India at the 2023 Auto Expo. The automaker is also likely to unveil awaited models like the Carnival and the Seltos facelift at the automotive event.
The teaser offers a sneak peek at Kia's upcoming, top-of-the-line flagship EV model. It is expected that the EV9 7-seater electric SUV will launch somewhere between 2023 and 2024. This electric concept was initially showcased at the LA Motor Show in November 2021.
The E-GMP architecture served as the basis for the Kia EV9 electric SUV concept. It has the iconic digital 'tiger nose' grille from Kia. Both the front and back of the SUV have vertical DRLs. A solar panel is used in the hood vent duct area to assist the car to recuperate some of the energy it consumes. In addition to a sophisticated camera monitoring system that takes the place of traditional wing mirrors, there are retractable roof rails. The Kia EV9 electric SUV concept comes with an all-encompassing DLO panoramic roof and rides on 22-inch machined wheels.
The Kia EV9 electric SUV concept measures 4,930mm in length, 2,055mm in width, 1,790mm in height, and has a 3,100mm wheelbase. It has a driving range of up to 483 kilometres. The vehicle can be charged from 10% to 80% in 20-30 minutes using next-generation ultra-fast charging technology and a 350kW charger.
The Kia EV9's interior has a large, single-piece unit that will accommodate the touchscreen infotainment system and fully digital instrument console. There are also haptic buttons on the dashboard, A-pillar mounted tweeters, a floating centre console with an armrest, and ambient lighting.
