Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: Vayve has unveiled Eva, India's pioneering solar-powered vehicle, at the Auto Expo 2025, with an introductory price of Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in three trims – Nova, Stella, and Vega – the car offers a battery subscription option, or customers can opt to purchase the battery outright for Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This special pricing is exclusive to the first 25,000 buyers. The company plans to commence commercial production by mid-2024, with deliveries scheduled for the latter part of 2026. The EVA will initially be launched in select cities, such as Pune and Bengaluru, with a phased introduction. Pre-bookings for the vehicle are already open, starting this month.

Vayve Eva: Dimensions and Colour Options

The Eva is a 2-door, 2-seater quadricycle engineered for efficient urban travel. The design emphasises aerodynamic performance. It features compact dimensions, measuring 3,060mm in length, 1,150mm in width, and 1,590mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,200mm. It also provides a ground clearance of 170mm, ensuring practicality for varied road conditions.

A total of six paint jobs will be on offer: Champagne Gold, Moonstone White, Rose Coral, Cherry Red, Sky Blue, and Light Platinum. The bookings are slated to open next month. Although the car does not face direct competition in the country, the MG Comet EV stands as its closest comparable offering.

Vayve Eva: Battery Specs and Charging Time

The Vayve Eva features a 14kWh battery pack. This unit boasts an IP68 certification ensuring resistance against water and dust. Furthermore, the setup offers a claimed driving range of 250 km per charge. Powering the rear wheels is a single electric motor positioned at the back, producing 8bhp and 40Nm of torque. The car accelerates from 0 to 40km/h in 5 seconds and can achieve a peak speed of 70km/h.

The Eva supports both AC and DC charging. Using a standard 15A socket, the battery reaches 80 per cent capacity in 4 hours, while a CCS2 DC fast charger reduces this time to 45 minutes, adding 50 km of range with just 5 minutes of charging.

Vayve Eva: Cabin

Inside, the cabin boasts modern amenities like climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, vehicle diagnostics, OTA updates, a digital driver's display, airbags, a six-way adjustable driver's seat, and a two-spoke steering wheel.
