Bmw 2 Series Gran Coupe Black Editon Launched

This special edition model of the 2 Series Gran Coupe will only go on sale online from 7th December. Priced at Rs 42.30 lakh, only 24 units of Black Shadow Edition will be sold in India.

It has been just over a month since BMW launched the entry-level 2 Series Gran Coupe in India, and the company has already introduced a special edition variant. The 2 Series Gran Coupe Black Shadow Edition is priced at Rs 42.30 lakh – it demands a premium of Rs 3 lakh over the base 220d Sportline and just Rs 90,000 over the fully-loaded 220d M Sport. Interestingly, the larger and more powerful 330i is priced at Rs 42.30 lakh for the base Sport trim.

The 2 Series M Sport Black Shadow Edition will go on sale on 7th December. BMW will only sell 24 units of this limited-edition model on their official website. The car can be had in two colour options – Alpine White and Black Sapphire.

Changes to the Black Shadow Edition include M Sport elements like the piano black mesh grille and ORVM casings. As part of this package, the 2 Series also gets a sleek black boot spoiler. Unlike the ‘regular’ 2 Series GC, the tailpipes on this one are also finished in gloss black. Although the Black Shadow Edition, too, gets 18-inch wheels, it gets a sportier-looking design and, as the name suggests, is finished in black. To add a sense of sportiness, the interior of the Black Edition has been draped in, well, black. It comes fitted with sports seats, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch infotainment display with wireless CarPlay, and more.

The heart of the 2 Series GC Black Edition continues to be the same. The car develops 188bhp and 400Nm from a 2.0-litre diesel heart. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
