The BMW 5 Series is now available in a special edition, which can be had with a petrol engine but only in the colour white. The changes on the new 530i M Sport Carbon Edition, however, are just skin deep.

BMW India has launched the 530i M Sport Carbon Edition at a starting price of Rs 66.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Carbon Edition costs Rs 2.9 lakh more than the standard BMW 530i. For the extra money, the 530i Carbon Edition will sport the Alpine White exterior colour. The mirror caps and boot lip spoiler, finished in carbon black, offer an interesting contrast. The front grille and the air-splitter are finished in dark black carbon fibre, and BMW has added Jet black 18-inch alloy wheels in the package as well. The cabin, too, has received a few interesting touches – the cabin details in Cognac Black.

Other than the aforementioned changes, the BMW 530i M Sport Carbon Edition is identical to the standard 530i M Sport. The feature list is the same as the standard car, which means that it comes equipped with techs such as Remote-Control Parking, parking assistant, BMW virtual assistant, BMW gesture control, and a 360-degree Surround-view camera. Other features include four-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and a 16 speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

The mechanicals of the special edition is identical to that of the standard car. The BMW 530i M Sport Carbon Edition features a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The power is rated at 248bhp and 350Nm, which helps the 530i M Sport do a 0 –100km/h run in 6.1 seconds (claimed).
