BYD India has marked a major achievement with its newest offering, the Sealion 7, surpassing 1,000 reservations for the e-SUV. When it comes to pricing, the BYD Sealion 7 starts at Rs 48.90 lakh for the base Premium variant, while the top-spec Performance model is priced at Rs 54.90 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom figures. At this price point, the BYD Sealion 7 positions itself as a strong contender in the all-electric crossover and SUV category, competing with models such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, BMW iX1 LWB, as well as the Volvo EX40.
The BYD Sealion 7 is a fully electric SUV with a four-door layout, featuring a sleek coupe-inspired sloping roofline. It embraces BYD’s signature Ocean series design language, characterised by striking LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and distinctive ‘double-U’ LED headlamps. Its flared wheel arches, emphasised by contrasting black cladding, enhance its rugged aesthetic.

At the rear, the dual-tone bumper is complemented by two aerodynamic spoilers, one mounted on the roof and the other on the boot lid, reinforcing its sporty look. A wraparound LED taillight setup, connected by an illuminated light bar, further elevates its modern appeal. Buyers can choose from a range of exterior shades like Aurora White, Atlantis Grey, Shark Grey, and Cosmos Black.
In terms of performance, the Sealion 7 is offered in both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations, each powered by an 82.6kWh battery pack. The RWD variant delivers 308bhp and 380Nm of torque, providing an estimated driving range of 560 km/charge. On the other hand, the AWD model boasts a higher output of 523bhp and 690Nm of torque, though its range is slightly lower at 530 km/charge. The car sprints from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.5 seconds and achieves a top speed of 215km/h.

Inside, the EV offers a high-tech and premium cabin, equipped with a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, seamlessly integrating Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and multiple vehicle controls. Comfort features include an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory, a head-up display, and ventillated front seats. Enhancing the luxurious ambience are ambient lighting, a 12-speaker premium audio system, and a panoramic glass roof. Additionally, the SUV includes a wireless phone charger and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality for added convenience.

On the safety front, the Sealion 7 is equipped with front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and 11 airbags. It also features an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) with blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and lane departure assist.
