Chevrolet has taken the wraps off the Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo, a racecar concept created exclusively for Gran Turismo 7. The digital-only model evolves from the earlier Corvette CX and gives a glimpse into what the brand imagines for the future of GT racing. For more than 25 years, Chevrolet has maintained a close link between its road cars and racing projects, and the CX.R VGT carries that tradition into the virtual world.

The Corvette CX.R VGT is more than just an addition to the game’s garage, it reflects Chevrolet’s long-standing expertise that road cars and race cars inform one another.
True to its competition focus, the CX.R VGT has been designed around racing needs. The car sits lower than the earlier concept and incorporates new aerodynamic parts shaped to produce higher downforce and improved grip through corners. A lightweight build helps the car deliver the responses expected of a track machine.
Inside, the cabin swaps comfort for pure function. The dashboard is made from exposed carbon fibre to save weight, while the seats feature suede-wrapped inserts that provide extra hold during aggressive driving. Additional shoulder and headrest padding has been added to support drivers when dealing with the high loads that come from racing speeds.
At the core of the CX.R VGT is a hybrid system that combines classic V8 power with electric assistance. A mid-mounted 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 develops 900hp and revs to 15,000rpm.

Alongside it, three electric motors, two driving the front wheels and another positioned inside the 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, take the total system output to 1,973hp. The V8 runs on renewable e-fuel, bringing together performance with a push towards sustainability.

What makes the concept even more accessible is that fans won’t just see it, they’ll get to drive it in Gran Turismo 7. With decades of motorsport history behind it, this vision concept shows how the Corvette story could continue to evolve in the years ahead.
