FERRARI PUROSANGUE

Only a few months after worldwide sales started, the first-ever Ferrari Purosangue luxury performance SUV entered the Indian shores. The first unit of the model was recently handed over to its owner Boopesh Reddy in Bengaluru, speeding up the arrival of the Italian SUV in our country. As the first four-door, four-seater vehicle from the signature brand, it was globally launched in 2022, ushering in a new phase for the company. It is the automaker's answer to the likes of the Bentley Bentayga, the Lamborghini Urus Performante, the Aston Martin DBX, and the Maserati Levante Trofeo. Decked up in an elegant Nero Daytona black paint job, the Purosangue has blacked-out wheels with a carbon centre cap. Notably, a pleasing contrast to the all-black appearance is created by the cabin's Iroko interior finish. Here's what else you can expect from this upcoming beast.

This performance offering is a Ferrari sportscar with a low-slung roof, a large bonnet, a coupe roofline, and short overhangs. It is built on stilts. However, what sets it apart from the standard Ferrari two-door is the increased 180mm ground clearance. Sports seats, including two in the second row, and Alcantara leather are also featured in the cabin. With the rear doors hinged at the back, the SUV has an additional set of doors that open up to the second row and two separate, position-and-recline-adjustable rear seats.

Ferrari Purosangue: Engine and Performance

Under the hood of the Ferrari Purosangue is an impressive and powerful unit. This new 6.5-litre 65-degree naturally-aspirated (NA) V12 engine, tuned to put out 715bhp of maximum power at 7,750rpm and 716Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm, drives the front-engined version. Furthermore, an eight-speed DCT rear-set dual-clutch gearbox along with a two-speed power transmission unit provides power to all four wheels.

Now, moving on to the performance parameter. With a sprint time of 3.3 seconds for reaching from 0 to 100km/h and 10.6 seconds for 0-200km/h, the Purosangue requires all that power and torque to tow. The top speed stands at 310km/h. Besides, carbon ceramic brakes are standard on the performance SUV. A four-wheel steering system that allows the rear wheels to spin independently of one another, an electronic differential at the back, an active suspension, and torque vectoring at the front axle are other highlights.

Ferrari Purosangue: Expected Price

This is perhaps the first of several Ferrari Purosangue models intended for India. The producer has often stated that there is a significant demand for its SUV, so reserving one now would likely result in a protracted waiting duration. The model's price for the domestic market has not yet been officially revealed, but ex-showroom pricing for the Purosangue is anticipated to be around Rs 6.5 crore.

Upon launch, the Ferrari's most practical vehicle yet will go up against the Bentley Bentayga, the Aston Martin DBX, the Maserati Levante Trofeo, and the Lamborghini Urus Performante in the high-performance SUV market.
