Fiat Linea 125 S launched at Rs 10.46 lakh

Fiat launches more powerful Linea 125 S. Punto Evo and Avventura diesel models to be sold with 90bhp diesel engine as standard.

Fiat India has launched a more powerful version of the Linea sedan in the country, dubbed the Linea 125 S. Alongside that, the company has also announced making the 90bhp tune of the 1.3-litre, Multijet diesel unit standard across the Punto Evo and Avventura diesel versions. In addition to that, these models now also get a touch screen infotainment system across all trims.

The Fiat Linea 125 S was first showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in February. It is powered by the same 1.4-litre, T-Jet petrol engine from the standard car but power output has been upped to 123bhp now from 113bhp in the regular version. Additionally, higher end versions now also get a 5-inch multi-functional touch-screen infotainment system with navigation. Other highlights remain as is and it gets disc brakes on all four wheels, dual stage driver airbags, 16-inch alloy wheels, rain sensing wipers, auto headlamps, single-touch power windows and cruise control.

Besides that we do make great-looking cars. Though our strengths are performance and visual aesthetics, we do recognise the necessity of fuel efficiency, and our engines have been tuned to uncompromisingly deliver on that front. Over the years our cars have transformed customers into enthusiasts and that is because we build products that make their commute more delightful and safe instead of one that is merely functional.”

Prices for the Fiat Linea range starts at Rs. 7.82 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) while the Linea 125 S model is only available in top-end Emotion spec with a sticker price of Rs. 10.46 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The more powerful diesel versions of the Punto Evo and Avventura are being named ‘PowerTech’ now, with prices starting at Rs. 6.81 lakh for the Fiat Punto Evo and Rs. 7.87 lakh for the Fiat Avventura (both ex-showroom, New Delhi).
