Ford has unveiled the all-electric Bronco New Energy SUV, built specifically for China’s growing EV segment. It blends classic Bronco styling with modern updates and electric powertrain options. Designed especially for Chinese buyers, this new all-electric SUV is based on the Bronco Sport, not the larger Bronco sold globally. At first glance, the Bronco New Energy still carries that strong, boxy look fans love. But look closer, and you’ll spot smart design tweaks aimed at improving efficiency. A sealed grille, reworked bumper, and updated daytime running lights help reduce air resistance. Black cladding and silver details give it a tough yet fresh appearance, while a smooth panel above the grille replaces the usual engine cooling vents.

The Bronco New Energy features squared-off fenders, rugged lower cladding, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. Its shape leans toward the Bronco Sport, offering a compact, city-friendly design with an adventurous edge.
Inside, Ford is keeping most details under wraps for now but has confirmed a few standout features. These include a panoramic sunroof and an advanced driver-assist system powered by LiDAR.
There are two powertrains to choose from: a fully electric version with a 105.4 kWh BYD battery offering up to 650km range, and a range-extender version with a smaller battery and 1.5L petrol engine, stretching the total range to 1,220km. Both versions offer dual-motor all-wheel drive.

Set to go on sale later this year, the Bronco New Energy fits into the mid-size electric SUV segment. With its blend of familiar styling, modern tech, and solid range, Ford hopes it will win over a new wave of EV buyers in China. The SUV also plays an important role in the brand’s wider push for sustainable mobility across the globe.
