Ford has unveiled the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon at Monterey Car Week 2025, introducing a new version of the Mustang focused on race-inspired engineering and road use. This limited-edition model features exposed carbon-fibre body panels and advanced aerodynamic components designed for track performance. Production will begin later this year, with the model positioned as a specialised Mustang that brings together modern engineering techniques with the heritage of American muscle cars. The GTD Liquid Carbon delivers a focused driving experience designed for those seeking a race-inspired Mustang that is also suitable for road use.

The design replaces the usual paint with clear-coated carbon-fibre panels on the bonnet, roof, rear deck, fenders, and wing. Each panel is carefully aligned to meet functional and visual requirements.

Aerodynamic features adapted from the Mustang GT3 race car include a front splitter, an adjustable rear wing with a DRS system, dive planes, and underbody flaps. These parts work together to increase downforce and improve stability during high-speed driving.
The GTD Liquid Carbon uses a supercharged 5.2-litre V8 engine producing more than 78bhp. This engine is combined with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

A carbon-fibre driveshaft and a rear transaxle contribute to achieving near-perfect weight distribution. This combination supports strong acceleration and precise handling, marking it as the fastest Mustang built by Ford.
