Genesis X Skorpio Concept features a scorpion-inspired design and a 1085-bhp V8 engine, built as an extreme off-road vehicle for desert terrain.

Genesis has shocked the off-road space by unveiling the X Skorpio Concept, a 1085-bhp machine built to take on sand dunes and extreme terrain. This is not a styling exercise parked under lights, but a machine built to make sense in sand and open terrain. It marks the brand’s first move towards extreme off-road vehicles and gives a clear idea of where Genesis wants to go next. The concept also hints at a future where Genesis SUVs are not limited to highways. With this project, the brand is testing how performance, structure and design can come together for serious off-road use, while still keeping the familiar Genesis identity intact.

The X Skorpio Concept takes its name from the black scorpion, and the design follows that theme closely. The body features a sharp, segmented layout with wide proportions and a tall stance. A roof-mounted air intake supports desert driving, while the long-travel setup gives the vehicle proper ground clearance. Dual-line LED lighting remains part of the design, making sure it still looks like a Genesis even in off-road form.

The cabin is focused on driving rather than show. The layout keeps things practical, with controls placed for quick access when the terrain gets rough. It avoids a bare race-spec interior and instead aims for comfort that works over long hours in the desert. The cabin design is part of the concept study, showing how off-road vehicles can still feel usable without losing their purpose.
At the heart of the X Skorpio Concept sits a V8 engine pushing out around 1,085bhp. Torque stands at 1,152Nm. Power is sent through a setup built for punishment, with 18-inch beadlock wheels wrapped in 40-inch off-road tyres. High-clearance fenders, underbody protection and suspension tuned for loose surfaces complete the mechanical package.

The concept rides on a tubular frame and uses a full roll cage, borrowing heavily from off-road racing machines. This structure is designed to handle extreme conditions rather than everyday roads. For now, Genesis has not shared any production timeline.
