Hyundai Alcazar Prestige Executive trim launched at Rs 15.89 lakh in India
The new Prestige Executive trim of Hyundai Alcazar is most likely a reaction to the continued semiconductor shortage that has been plaguing the auto industry for quite some time now.

The Prestige Executive trim is the new entry point into the Alcazar line-up in India.
Hyundai has debuted a new base trim of the Alcazar SUV in India, called the Prestige Executive trim, which has been placed a rung below the Prestige trim. The latter was the entry point into the line-up before the debut of the former, which loses out on a few features. The price of the new trim starts at Rs 15.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new Prestige Executive trim comes in 7-seat petrol-MT, 6- and 7-seat diesel-MT, and 7-seat diesel-AT options. It must be noted that the previous base Prestige petrol variant was also available with the automatic transmission and in a 6-seat configuration.
In terms of features, the new trim of the Alcazar ditches the large 10.25-inch touchscreen for a smaller 8.0-inch unit, which is also offered on the mid-spec trims of the Hyundai Creta. The new trim option is most likely the company’s way to deal with the chip shortage problem plaguing the global automotive industry.
Buyers should take note that the new infotainment system in the new trim of Alcazar loses out on BlueLink connected-car technology and the ability to receive over-the-air updates. It also comes with just a one-mic setup. Although, it still retains wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with voice commands. Also, instead of a full touchscreen, it gets physical knobs.
Apart from that, Hyundai has also gotten rid of a few other elements in the new Alcazar trim, including the auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror with SOS button, burglar alarm, and chrome-finished outside door handles; the car instead gets a manual day/night inside rear-view mirror and body-coloured door handles.
On the other hand, Alcazar's new Prestige Executive has retained features like LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, cruise control, wireless charging, and ambient lighting.
