The Creta SUV, launched on July 21, 2015, is celebrating a significant milestone of completing 10 years in India. Over the years, the Hyundai SUV has evolved consistently to meet changing buyer demands and industry trends. It has retained its position as a segment leader with several makeovers and feature upgrades. For instance, a notable cosmetic update in 2018 significantly refreshed the SUV’s appearance and functionality, with dual-tone bumpers, projector headlamps, and the innovative H-Band wearable key. This was followed by a significant second-generation launch in 2020, which introduced a bold new design language, as well as cutting-edge connected-car technology, and a wide array of powertrain options, including multiple engine and transmission options.
In January 2024, the Creta saw a major facelift with sharper styling, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). This was swiftly accompanied by the launch of the sportier Creta N Line in the same year. Most recently, in January 2025, Hyundai rolled out the Creta Electric, bringing the sustainable option to its popular SUV lineup.
The Hyundai Creta made a powerful comeback in June 2025, reclaiming its position as India's best-selling passenger vehicle with 15,786 units sold, after losing the spot to the Dzire in May. It was also the highest-selling SUV across the first half of the calendar year. This year alone, the Creta has emerged as India's top-selling car three times – in March, April, and June.
