Hyundai Creta Side View

The battle between the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos has been raging in the Indian automotive market ever since their respective launches. Both vehicles offer a great blend of features, performance, and practicality, making them popular choices for those looking for a reliable SUV. The Hyundai Creta is a perfect blend of style and practicality, while the Kia Seltos offers sporty design and powerful performance. Both vehicles come with plenty of features and great value for money. In this comparison, we will compare both SUVs in terms of design, features, performance, and price, to help you decide which one is best suited for you.

Design

Kia Seltos

The Creta and the Seltos share the same platform, but each has its own design language. The Hyundai Creta has more flowing lines, an upside-down headlight configuration, a large grille with vertical slats, and a complex LED tail lamp configuration. This brings us to the Kia Seltos, which has a sharp design that contrasts sharply with the Creta. While the Creta has a complex tail light design, the Seltos has a complex headlight unit with a sleeker grille that gives it a butch appearance. The sleek tail lamps add to the Seltos' overall sporty appearance.

Dimensions

The width and height of the two vehicles are only slightly different when comparing their dimensions. The wheelbase and ground clearance of the Creta and the Seltos are identical. Both offer 433 litres of boot space and 190mm of ground clearance.

Powertrain

The Seltos receives the same two petrol engine variants and one diesel option as the Creta. Since they are both common engines, they produce the same amount of power. The choices for gearboxes are also the same.

Exterior and Interior Features

In terms of features, the Hyundai Creta has 17-inch wheels, roof rails, front and rear skid plates, LED lighting, and dual exhaust tips on some models. The list of features inside is long and includes, among other things, powered driver's seat, flat-bottom steering wheel, sunroof, ventilated seats, option of two-tone or all-black interior, wireless charging, and a sunroof. Depending on the model, the available infotainment system is either an 8- or a 10.2-inch touchscreen, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, Bose speakers, and a long list of connected car technologies.

The top-spec Seltos model has 18-inch wheels, LED headlights and taillamps, roof rails, and red accents on the GT Line to give it a sportier appearance. Similar to the Creta, the Seltos' interior has a long list of features like a sunroof, ventilated seats, wireless charging, soft-touch materials on the dashboard, ambient lighting, and the option of a dual-tone or all-black interior. A 2DIN audio system, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, or a 10.25-inch system are available as infotainment systems. All have smartphone connectivity, but in different ways, and Bose speakers deliver sound. Further, the Kia Seltos receives AI voice commands as well as connected car technology.
