Hyundai Motor India has confirmed that its upcoming micro-SUV will be called, the Exter. The new model, the company says, will join the Hyundai SUV strong line-up that already includes the Venue, the Venue N Line, the Creta, the Alcazar, the Kona Electric, the Tucson, and the Ioniq 5. The other details pertaining to its launch timeline, design, and features have been kept under wraps. However, the brand has teased the new upcoming SUV that it intends to launch in the coming weeks. The latest  teaser images released by the company show an external silhouette of the Hyundai Exter. If we go by some reports, the production of the car is likely to begin by July to September this year. In the line-up, the Hyundai Exter will be positioned between the Venue and the Grand i10. It could share its underpinnings with the Grand i10 Nios and measure around 3,800mm in length.

Hyundai Exter: Expected Features

The Hyundai Exter SUV could get a bonnet with strong character lines (based on teaser images), angular tail lamps, scuff plates, split headlamps, LED DRLs, a sunroof, connected car technology, infotainment screen, and so on. It might get 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels to ride on.

Hyundai Exter: Expected Powertrain

In terms of the powertrain, the Exter micro-SUV may draw power from a 1.2-litre VTVT naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 81bhp of maximum power and 115Nm of peak torque. This engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Furthermore, the SUV might also get a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. In that case, the company will reportedly offer this engine option with the SUV's top-spec trims. This engine churns out 99bhp of power and 172Nm of peak torque. Also, the SUV could come with a CNG powertrain as well.
