Vacationing in these times of COVID-19 too has become a distant thought, especially knowing that you might just inadvertently expose yourself to the virus at a hotel or restaurant. For those who don’t want to compromise on their outings, Bengaluru-based start-up has launched an interesting alternative. Campervan Camps and Holidays India Pvt. Ltd. has just launched India’s first commercially approved motorhomes, LuxeCamper, and it has been approved by Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).
LuxeCamper will rent you a fully equipped motorhome that can accommodate four for a unique and adventure outing in the woods or under the stars. The company rents out recreation vehicles that come equipped with a kitchenette, a wardrobe, two queen sized beds, and thermal controls for heating and cooling. The motorhome gets a 1,400-watt solar panels on the roof to power the refrigerator, freezer, microwave and more. Other facilities include a hot/cold shower, 2 smart televisions, a Bluetooth music system and more. For ease of driving, the vehicle comes fitted with a 360-degree camera, GPS tracker, and a speed governor.
Speaking on the occasion, Tiger Ramesh – Founder, Campervan Camps and Holidays India Pvt Ltd. said, “We are excited to introduce the concept of Motorhome-based holidays in India. Our endeavour is to offer an all-new safe and exquisite travel experience that brings together comfort and style, like never before! As there are no readymade Motorhomes available in India for tourism purpose, we decided to design and manufacture our own Motorhomes. With these beautifully designed LuxeCampers, our aim is to provide travellers with the opportunity to deep dive into unexplored destinations by personalizing their travel trails and activities.”
The LuxeCamper will only be available in Bengaluru to start with. While the idea of a motorhome vacation might entice a lot of travel and driving enthusiasts, as of now, they can only be driven to and parked at one of four destinations – Bheemeshwari, Kabini, Bandipur and Hampi. As of now, LuxeCamper still doesn’t give liberty to choose your own destination.
LuxeCamper’s recommended trails start at Rs 49,999 for a 2-day trip from Bengaluru to Bheemeshwari. While these charges include services of a certified driver, there is no official word on a self-drive option. That being said, the company claims that the driver’s cabin is isolated from the guest-dwelling unit.
