The Avenger 4xe isn't a plug-in hybrid, in contrast to other 4xe models in Jeep's international portfolio. Instead, it combines two electric motors that provide 28bhp each and a mild hybrid 48-volt system with a well-known 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 132bhp.

A six-speed dual-clutch automatic and a "smart all-wheel-drive system" that maintains a permanent 50:50 split at low speeds distribute power to all four wheels. The rear electric motor engages fully at speeds over 90km/h and goes into standby mode when travelling faster than 30km/h. The driver can choose between four Selec Terrain modes: Auto, Snow, Sand&Mud, and Sport. The Avenger 4xe can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 9.5 seconds thanks to the latter, and it can achieve a maximum speed of 194km/h, which is 10 km/h faster than the FWD e-Hybrid. In comparison, the more powerful EV finishes the sprint 0.5 seconds faster but can only reach a maximum speed of 150km/h.

Jeep Avenger 4xe AWD: Design

Sporting a unique look, the Avenger 4xe comes with two new trim levels: Overland and Upland. Both models come with unique design elements such as a rear towing hook, standard roof racks to boost the load capacity for carrying equipment, and scratch-resistant front and rear bumpers. The updated front bumper now has higher-mounted fog lights and additional protective cladding.

Jeep's unique all-wheel drive technology, which enables 4x4 to be accessible whenever needed without affecting fuel efficiency, is one of the primary features of the new Avenger 4xe. The new Multilink rear suspension arrangement improves rear axle articulation and delivers greater comfort on uneven routes. The Avenger 4xe not only delivers performance but also comfort, with new seats made of sturdy, water-resistant material and a spacious cabin. The standard M+S tyres offer reliable grip in a range of weather conditions, while the optional All Terrain 3PMSF tyres provide superior performance on tough terrain.
