Jeep Meridian Facelift Launched in India at Rs 24.99 Lakh, Gets New Variants and Features

The redesigned Jeep Meridian is now available in 5- and 7-seat configurations. Its bookings are now underway, while deliveries are set to start by the end of October 2024.

Jeep has launched the updated Meridian in India at a starting price of Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new version, which comes in five and seven-seater configurations, is Rs 6.24 less expensive than the previous entry-level model. It is now available in four variants: Longitude, Longitude Plus, Limited (O), and Overland. The base model (Longitude) is only available in a 5-seat setup, while the remaining variants have a seven-seat configuration. Bookings for the SUV are currently underway, while deliveries are scheduled to commence by the end of October 2024. Jeep Meridian Facelift: Exterior and Interior

The Meridian's exterior has undergone minor but noticeable alterations. For instance, the familiar seven-slat grille's honeycomb mesh now features chrome studs. Additionally, the SUV has 18-inch alloy wheels in different patterns, according to the variants.

There are no major changes to the SUV's interior, but the dashboard is now adorned in a new suede finish with copper stitching, while the seats have beige upholstery. Moreover, the chrome band that supports the dashboard is now coated in copper. Besides this, the SUV continues to sport a 9-speaker Alpine audio system, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment, wireless charger, and ventilated front seats. 

According to Jeep, the SUV with a 5-seat configuration offers a boot space of 670 litres, while the 7-seat versions can hold a space of 824 litres when the second row is folded down. However, with all three rows in occupancy, the 7-seater models have a 170-litre cargo space.

In terms of features, the new Meridian gains several new technologies, including a Level 2 ADAS suite. This feature, which is available on the top-tier Overland variant, includes capabilities like Intelligent Speed Assist, Full Speed Forward Collision, Warning with Collision Mitigation Braking, Lane Departure Warning & Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Blind Spot Detection, Driver Attention Alert, and Adaptive Cruise control with Stop and Go. Other notable highlights of the SUV include dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, six airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system. A larger set of connected car technologies, like as Alexa Home connectivity, is also offered. Notably, the features list varies according to different trim levels. 

Jeep Meridian Facelift: Powertrain

Mechanically, the updated SUV is powered by the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that can be paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a nine-speed automatic torque converter unit. This setup develops a maximum power output of 168bhp and a peak torque of 350Nm. Similar to the previous-gen model, the SUV comes in 4x2 and 4x4 versions.
