Kia India has expanded the model lineup of the Carens Clavis EV with a new variant called HTX E. Prices for the standard version are Rs 19.99 lakh, while the Extended Range trim costs Rs 21.99 lakh. Both are ex-showroom prices. With this update, the Carens Clavis EV now offers a total of six variants, with the newly introduced models positioned between the base-level HTK+ trim and the top-spec HTX model.
The price of the Carens Carens EV starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 17.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 24.49 lakh. While the new HTX E continues to offer all features from the base HTK+ trim, it also adds several new ones. So, let's take a look at what's new.
With the HTX E trim, Kia has narrowed the gap between the mid and higher variants of the Carens Clavis EV. The new HTX E adds amenities such as 64-colour ambient lighting, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, adjustable steering (tilt and telescopic), leatherette upholstery, voice-enabled power windows, a rear seatback table, an anti-glare IRVM, an air purifier, and LED interior lamps, over the entry-level HTK+ variant.

The cabin has a dual-tone beige and navy blue theme. If you choose the Extended Range version, you also get sporty 17-inch alloy wheels. Most of these features used to be available only in the HTX trim, but now they’re offered in the more affordable HTX E.
While the HTX E shares most features with the HTX, it lacks the ADAS safety tech found in the latter. The HTX+ continues to offer the complete package as before.
The HTX E variant comes with two battery options. The Standard Range model is powered by a 42kWh battery and offers an ARAI-certified range of 404 kilometres. It features a front-mounted electric motor that produces 133bhp and 255Nm.

Meanwhile, the Extended Range version packs a larger 51.4kWh battery, which increases the ARAI-rated range to 490 kilometers. It also gets a more powerful front motor that delivers a power output of 169bhp while maintaining the same torque.
