After launching the Carens Clavis in May this year, Kia is now set to introduce the electric version of the MPV tomorrow in India, July 15. The model's exterior and interior have already been revealed, and it is confirmed to offer a claimed range of 490 kilometres. While key details such as pricing, features, and battery pack options will be officially announced at the launch, here’s everything you need to know about its design and other highlights ahead of the debut.
The EV is largely similar to the standard Kia Carens Clavis, but there are a few unique elements that highlight its green identity, such as a sealed-off panel with a charging port in place of a traditional grille. The front fascia now looks sharper and futuristic with ice-cube style fog lamps.

While the side profile is almost the same, the aero-tuned alloy wheels are new. The rear also remains unchanged, with the familiar connected LED taillight setup and a defogger.

Just like its exterior, the EV's cabin is nearly identical to its ICE-powered counterpart. However, the theme and storage layout boast some changes. For instance, the electrified Carens Clavis has a white and black colour scheme, which is found on the lower versions of the ICE model. There's a sliding tray in the centre console that provides additional storage beneath.
The upcoming electric Carens Clavis is expected to carry over many of the features offered in its ICE sibling, including powered front seats, a wireless phone charger, vehicle-to-load (V2L), and automatic climate control.

For safety, the e-MPV will likely include a 360-degree camera, disc brakes on all four wheels, six airbags as standard, and six airbags (standard).
The battery options of the Carens Clavis EV are not confirmed, but industry reports indicate that Kia could offer two options for the EV (42kWh and 51.4kWh, similar to the electric Creta). The car is also expected to have a front-mounted motor.
