Kia will launch the Carens Clavis in India on May 23, 2025, expanding its MPV lineup. This facelifted version of the Carens is expected to offer a practical, feature-packed option for families, focusing on space, technology, and comfort. Bookings for the new model are now open, with a token amount of Rs 25,000 required to secure a unit. Customers can place their orders for the MPV either at authorised local dealerships or on the brand's website. With several significant upgrades over the current Carens (priced between Rs 10.60 lakh and Rs 19.70 lakh, ex-showroom), the Clavis is expected to carry a higher price tag. The Clavis will be available in seven trims – HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+ (O), HTX, and HTX (O) – in both six- and seven-seater variants. Buyers can choose from several paint options, including Glacier White Pearl, Ivory Silver Gloss, Clear White, Gravity Gray, Pewter Olive, Aurora Black Pearl, Imperial Blue, and Sparkling Silver.
Although it shares its platform with the Carens, the Kia Clavis takes a bold step away from traditional MPV styling, adopting a more rugged, SUV-like appearance. The front features a bolder, modern design, with its signature 3-pod LED headlights neatly positioned within triangular housings, complemented by sleek LED DRLs and a closed-off grille.

The Clavis also features silver faux skid plates on both bumpers and rides on 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels with a star pattern. At the rear, a full-width LED light bar connects the newly designed taillights for a seamless, contemporary look.
The Clavis retains the engine options from the Carens, offering a familiar range of petrol and diesel powertrains. These include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine with 113bhp/144Nm, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 158bhp/253Nm, and a 1.5-litre diesel unit with 114bhp/250Nm.
Transmission choices are diverse, with a six-speed manual, intelligent manual transmission (iMT), seven-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT), and a conventional torque converter automatic. The turbo-petrol version now also offers a six-speed manual option.
The Carens Clavis boasts a range of advanced features, such as a panoramic sunroof, a 9-speaker Bose audio system, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, 64-colour ambient lighting, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and ventilated front seats with 4-way power adjustment for the driver.
