The updated Kia EV6 has an introductory price tag of Rs 65.90 lakh (introductory ex-showroom, pan-India) and is exclusively offered with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration. With several key upgrades, including a larger battery, the new EV6 continues to compete with models like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Mercedes-Benz EQA, and the Volvo C40 Recharge. We've compiled a detailed comparison of the updated EV6 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 to help you determine which model suits your needs.

The refreshed EV6 has a more bold and sharp design compared to its predecessor. It has a closed-off grille, angular triangular LED DRLs, and sleeker LED projector headlights, while the front bumper is accentuated by striking cuts and creases. At the rear, the model keeps its signature connected LED taillights, a blacked-out diffuser, and a roof-mounted spoiler.

The car is equipped with 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels designed for improved aerodynamics alongside flush door handles that enhance its streamlined look. Inside, Kia stays true to its eco-friendly vision with sustainable materials, while the dashboard maintains its clean, modern layout.

On the other hand, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 sports a sleek, modern design featuring smooth lines, pixel-style LED lights, and auto-flush door handles. The car’s appeal is further enhanced by its range of colour options, striking 20-inch wheels, and a smooth, seamless clamshell hood design. Inside, the dedicated EV platform offers a spacious, flat-floored cabin. Moreover, Eco-friendly materials, such as eco-leather and recycled fabrics, are used throughout.

The 2025 Kia EV6 features a larger 84kWh battery pack that enables a range of 663 kilometres (ARAI). It’s powered by two electric motors that generate 321bhp and 605Nm, providing an all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration. The EV6 can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 5.3 seconds and charge from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes using a 350kW fast charger.

In contrast, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is powered by a single rear-wheel-drive electric motor paired with a 72.6 kWh battery. This configuration produces 216bhp and 350Nm of torque, offering a range of up to 631 kilometres on a full charge, which is slightly lower than its competitor. Like the Kia EV6, the Ioniq 5 also boasts 350 kW fast-charging capabilities, enabling the battery to recharge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.

The Kia EV6 has a 12-inch augmented reality heads-up display (HUD), a panoramic sunroof, dual 12.3-inch displays, and a wireless phone charger. For safety and convenience, the Kia car includes 8 airbags and Level-2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). On the other hand, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is also packed with high-end features, like a 12.3-inch dual-display system that integrates a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment screen.
