Kia PV5 Passenger

Kia is building excitement ahead of its upcoming EV Day by offering a sneak peek at some of its most eagerly anticipated electric vehicles. After unveiling the EV4, the South Korean automaker has now revealed the production-ready PV5 electric van in both passenger and cargo configurations. The PV5 marks Kia's first vehicle under its new Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) global business strategy, setting the stage for the brand's next chapter in the electric vehicle industry. Initially showcased as a concept at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), it is now in production form. Currently, Kia has only revealed exterior design images of the PV5, but we anticipate the model will come equipped with advanced technology and innovative features. Keep reading to explore the details of the van's design.

Kia PV5: Design

The passenger and cargo versions of the PV5 electric van share the same design, with a few modifications tailored to their specific purposes. The passenger variant features a clean, contemporary look, highlighted by a refined geometric profile and a large window area that enhances visibility, framed by black graphic glass surrounds.

The black wheel arch claddings and rocker panels give it a rugged, off-road-inspired appearance, visually connecting the van to Kia's SUV family. Other elements include bold signature lighting and sleek black accents on the headlights, chamfered D-pillar, and single lift-up tailgate.

The PV5 Cargo has the modern, geometric appearance of the passenger vehicle, but its profile is boxier, resulting in greater space efficiency. It sports two side-opening tailgate doors for easier loading and unloading.

Kia EV Day: What’s More?

In addition to the Kia EV4 and PV5, Kia will also unveil the EV2 Concept at its EV Day event in Tarragona, Spain, on February 27, 2025. Teasers reveal that the EV2 offers a compact yet impactful design with a focus on practicality. Its front is defined by a split headlamp design, vertical LED daytime running lights, and sturdy cladding on the lower bumper.
