Kia Seltos Facelift India Debut Tomorrow, Top 5 New Features You Can Expect

Kia India will finally pull the wraps off the 2023 Seltos SUV tomorrow. The automotive giant recently released the first teaser revealing the modified exterior and interior to create buzz ahead of its official debut in the country. Kia launched its maiden product - the Seltos, for India in August 2019. According to the market reports, the SUV has always been the most profitable good for the company ever since its launch. In the official teaser, we get a peek into the front profile design, as well as, the cabin of the upcoming facelift model. An integrated display arrangement with a touchscreen entertainment system and a fully digital driver's display has been added. Further, the SUV has received a modified dual-zone climate control located beneath the new central AC vents. However, the steering wheel resembles the outgoing model. As the compact SUV debuts tomorrow, i.e., on July 4, let's look at the top 5 new features that it will likely come equipped with.

Kia Seltos Facelift: A New Powertrain

Kia hasn't officially announced the powertrain details of the compact SUV. However, market reports claim that the upcoming model will likely get the same options as the outgoing version. It will reportedly continue with the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The former generates a maximum power of 113bhp, while the latter delivers a peak power output of 114.4bhp. A new engine: 1.5-litre turbo-petrol for the upcoming SUV could also be on the cards. Several industry speculations hint that Kia might offer this new engine, also used in the Kia Carens, to replace the 1.4-litre unit, which was discontinued.  

Kia Seltos Facelift: Dual-zone Climate Control

It is rumored that the future Seltos SUV would have dual-zone climate control. If this is true, it will be the first SUV in our market to provide this feature under the compact segment. The feature allows setting separate temperatures for the driver and front passenger, which is especially found in the premium models. For 2023, the carmaker will likely offer the SUV with a newly designed HVAC system with only physical buttons. Notably, the Mahindra XUV300 is our market's least expensive car with dual-zone climate control. 

Kia Seltos Facelift: Twin Screens

The interior of the Seltos will likely have a new dual, linked 10.25-inch infotainment and all-digital instrument cluster screens. This Mercedes-invented innovation has now become much more widely available in our market. According to the industry reports, the upcoming Kia's facelifted model will probably share the new unit with the Verna. Reports also suggest that depending on the trim, the precise screen configuration could change. Aside from this, the revamped Seltos will reportedly include wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto connectivity. 

Kia Seltos Facelift: ADAS

As mentioned, Kia has not divulged any information about the SUV. However, speculations are rife that the upcoming sports utility vehicle in the compact category will come equipped with an ADAS suite. For those unaware, the MG Astor is the first in the segment to have it. Several market reports claim that the upcoming 2023 model will have an ADAS comprising up to 16 functions. This safety feature is likely to be on the cards for only top-spec models.

Kia Seltos Facelift: Panoramic Sunroof

The outgoing model has a single-pane unit. However, Kia is set to provide customers with a panoramic sunroof as part of the facelift. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the MG Astor, the Hyundai Creta, and are some of the vehicles in this segment that offer this feature in our market. With the addition of the panoramic sunroof, the next-generation Kia Seltos will expectedly become a fierce competitor to these cited models in India. 

Finally, the veil from the much-awaited Kia Seltos SUV will be pulled tomorrow putting an end to all speculations circulating in India. In terms of price, there is no exact update, but according to market estimations, the SUV may come with a sticker price ranging between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 21 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.
