The debut of the 2026 Kia Seltos once again puts it head-to-head with its Korean cousin and long-time segment leader, the Hyundai Creta. While both SUVs have identical powertrains (1.5-litre NA petrol, diesel, and turbo-petrol), they differ in features, dimensions, design, and transmission options.
The Seltos SUV has consistently been one of Kia’s best-sellers in India, and to keep that momentum strong, it has now become more attractive, feature-rich, and spacious.
Now, let’s see whether the new features on the updated Seltos are enough to move the segment-leading Creta from its position or at least give it a tough time. Let’s compare their design, features, and other specifications to determine which is the better pick.

| Dimensions | Kia Seltos | Hyundai Creta | Difference |
| Length | 4,460mm | 4,330mm | +130mm |
| Width | 18,30mm | 1,790mm | +40mm |
| Height | 1,635mm | 1,635mm | - |
| Wheelbase | 2,690mm | 2,610mm | +80mm |
| Boot Capacity | 447 litres | 433 litres | +14 litres |
Indian families have long favoured mid-size SUVs with the right combination of comfort, affordability, features, and practical dimensions, and both the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta fit the bill. With its latest generational update, the 2026 Kia Seltos has grown stronger and more imposing, thanks to a wider stance and a new Global K3 platform.
It has also seen modest increases in size compared to the previous generation model. The all-new Seltos now measures 4,460mm in length, 1,830mm in width, and 1,635mm in height, making it 95mm longer and 30mm wider than before. The wheelbase has also grown by 80mm, reaching 2,690mm.
In comparison, the Hyundai Creta measures 4,330mm in length, 1,790mm in width, and 1,635mm in height, with a 2,610mm wheelbase. This makes the Seltos slightly larger in length and width, with the same height but a longer wheelbase. It also offers 447 litres of boot space, compared to the Creta’s 433 litres.

The redesigned cabin of the new Seltos makes it clear that this compact SUV is ready to take on its rivals. The most noticeable upgrade is the tri-screen setup sourced from the Syros, featuring a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, and a 5-inch climate control panel.
The cabin also offers a host of premium features, including a 10-way powered driver’s seat with memory, 64-colour ambient lighting, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a wireless phone charger, and multiple drive and traction modes.

In terms of safety, the Kia SUV boasts an array of standard features, including ISOFIX anchorages, a rearview camera, six airbags, hill-start assist, ESC, all-wheel disc brakes, and TPMS. It also boasts ADAS Level 2 with 21 autonomous features.

The Hyundai Creta, meanwhile, remains a well-equipped option in the compact SUV segment, offering a feature-rich and comfortable cabin, with a fully digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a rear wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, LED reading lights, and ergonomically contoured rear seats, an eight-way powered seat, a new smart key system, and a premium 8-speaker Bose audio setup. It also offers six airbags, hill-start assist, and electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management, and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for safety.

When placed side by side, the 2026 Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Creta both exude commanding road appeal, shaped by their brand philosophies. The new Seltos, following Kia’s Opposites United design language, looks sharper and more elegant with its digital tiger-nose grille, squared-off LED headlamps, and a cleaner, more modern lighting setup. The flush-fit door handles, updated alloy wheels, and full-width connected LED taillamps add to the more premium and modern look.

In contrast, the Hyundai Creta embraces Sensuous Sportiness, prioritising aggressive surfaces and eye-catching visual drama. Its parametric jewel-pattern grille, vertically stacked LED projectors, and horizon DRLs give it a more imposing, layered face. Other highlights include 5-spoke alloys, rugged bumpers, and the H-shaped LED taillamps.
The upcoming Kia Seltos is expected to have a starting price of around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). On the higher side, the top-spec Seltos variants could reach Rs 21 lakh.
