There are two engine options for the Syros: a 1.5-litre diesel with 114.4bhp and 250Nm and a 1-litre turbo-petrol with 118.3bhp and 172Nm. The turbo-petrol variant comes with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the diesel unit is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The Seltos, on the other hand, has three engine options: a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol, a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. The NA petrol engine develops 113bhp/144Nm and is available with a six-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. In contrast, the turbo-petrol mill produces 158bhp/253Nm with a seven-speed DCT or a six-speed iMT transmission.

The diesel unit produces 114.4bhp/250Nm mated to a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, or a 6-speed iMT transmission. Compared to the Syros, the Seltos' turbo-petrol engine offers a notable performance upgrade and a more dynamic and powerful driving experience.

Both SUVs offer Level-2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium sound system. However, the Seltos further distinguishes itself with bigger 18-inch alloy wheels and a heads-up display.

Both the Syros and Seltos are striking Kia SUVs with a commanding road presence. The Syros stands out with vertically stacked LED headlights, a sharply angled beltline near the C-pillar, and bold, squared-off wheel arches. It has 17-inch alloy wheels, large window panels, and a defined shoulder line that adds to its commanding presence on the road. Additional highlights include flush door handles, a body-coloured B-pillar, and L-shaped LED taillights.

The Seltos received a mid-life refresh in July 2023, with a bold and more dynamic design. It now features new DRL signatures, dynamic turn indicators, and a sculpted bonnet. The tiger-nose grille is flanked by LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, and the fog lamps sport a sleek four-block design. The look is further enhanced by wrap-around LED taillights, 18-inch wheels, and dual exhaust tips.

Though Kia has not officially disclosed the pricing for the Syros, industry speculation indicates it may start around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). In comparison, the Seltos is priced between Rs 10.89 lakh and Rs 20.44 lakh (ex-showroom).
