Lexus has introduced the 2025 IS 500 Ultimate Edition, a limited-run model that may signify the conclusion of its naturally aspirated V8-powered sedans. Restricted to 500 units in North America, this edition maintains the robust 5.0-litre V8 engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Performance enhancements include red-painted Brembo six-piston front brake callipers, lightweight 19-inch Matte Black BBS forged wheels, and a new F SPORT-exclusive "Wind" paint job. Inside, the cabin features a Circuit Red and Black theme with NuLuxe and Ultrasuede-trimmed seats, creating a cohesive, performance-inspired environment. While Lexus has not officially confirmed the end of the IS 500, the introduction of this Ultimate Edition suggests it may serve as a potential send-off for the V8-powered sedan, marking the culmination of an era.
At the front, the vehicle is equipped with high-performance Brembo six-piston aluminum callipers, matched with large 380mm ventilated pillar-fin discs and high-friction brake pads. This braking system provides strong stopping force and reliable fade resistance, while the exclusive red finish on the callipers highlights the car’s sporty intent. Complementing this are lightweight 19-inch forged alloy wheels from BBS, designed to improve stiffness and reduce unsprung mass.

A Matte Black coating on the wheels enhances their visual presence, adding to the car’s aggressive and confident road stance. A new F SPORT-exclusive exterior shade, named “Wind,” debuts with this edition. This light Metallic Grey finish is crafted to evoke a sense of movement and agility, visually reflecting the car’s dynamic driving nature.
Powered by the renowned 5.0-litre 2UR-GSE V8 engine, the IS 500 Ultimate Edition takes performance a step further. Paired with the familiar eight-speed Sport Direct Shift (SPDS) automatic gearbox, this setup continues to channel 465.5bhp and 535.5Nm of torque to the rear wheels, ensuring an engaging driving experience.
The interior of the IS 500 Ultimate Edition adopts a bold Circuit Red and Black colour scheme, with the seats upholstered in a premium blend of NuLuxe and Ultrasuede materials. Drawing inspiration from the iconic LFA, the steering wheel and gear shifter are wrapped in dimple-textured genuine leather, enhancing both tactility and aesthetics. Red seatbelts, a serialised interior badge, and strategically placed performance-themed accents contribute to a cohesive design that complements the car’s aggressive exterior character.

Further elevating the cabin’s sense of craftsmanship, the analogue clock stands out with a multi-layered dial enhanced by precision red laser-etched detailing. Unique Ultimate Edition styling cues extend to the scuff plates and the centre console's serialised badge. Additionally, the 8-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) display – featuring a colour multi-information screen and rear seat reminder – introduces a special start-up animation exclusive to the Ultimate Edition.
