Lexus LX 570 launched at ₹2.32 crore

The Land Cruiser based Lexus SUV gains V8 petrol power. 

Lexus has introduced the petrol variant of its flagship LX SUV in India. The LX 570, which will set you back by ₹2.32 crore (ex-showroom), joins the existing LX 450d to expand the SUV’s lineup to two variants.

The petrol engine propelling the LX 570 is a 5.7-litre V8 unit that produces 362bhp of max power 530Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. In this configuration, the LX can sprint from 0-100km/h in 7.7 seconds, which is 0.9 seconds faster than its diesel counterpart. Also, the LX 570 has been launched only in three row seating configuration in India.

Except for the new powertrain, the petrol model remains identical to the diesel LX 450d that has been on sale in India for quite some time. The LX is based on the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser LC 200 – which is one of the most capable full-size SUVs ever made. However, being a Lexus, the LX features far superior equipment and quality levels than its Toyota counterpart, which makes it tough and plush at the same time.
