Mahindra Bolero crosses 1 million sales milestone

This feat brings the Mahindra Bolero in the list of top 10 best-selling passenger cars in the country

The end of the financial year has brought Mahindra a reason to rejoice. Their popular SUV, the Bolero, has now crossed the 1 million sale milestone. The Nashik-based car maker claims that the Bolero has been the best-selling SUV for 10 consecutive years since 2005. This 1 million milestone brings the SUV back into the top 10 best-selling passenger cars in the country.

Since the time it was first launched in 2000, the Bolero has managed to garner a great fan following. Although fairly basic in terms of interior and features, the Bolero has managed to gain the trust of buyers for generations primarily with its reliability and ruggedness.

Currently, Mahindra sells the Bolero in the Standard and Power+ trims. The former comes fitted with Mahindra’s 2.5-litre m2DiCR motor that is good for 63bhp and 195Nm. The Power+ variants, on the other hand, have been plonked with a 1.5-litre motor that produces 70bhp. Torque rating is identical to the 2.5-litre mill. Despite the additional power, Mahindra has been able to price the Power+ variants at a more affordable price by making it short of 4 metres in length. Prices for the Mahindra Bolero start at Rs 6.85 lakh for the base Power+ 2WD trim, while the top-spec Power+ ZLX variant costs Rs 8.18 lakh. The Bolero with the 2.5-litre motor starts at Rs 7.33 lakh and goes right up to Rs 8.98 lakh. All prices ex-showroom Delhi.
