Mahindra Electric's MESMA 48 EV platform launched globally

Mahindra's MESMA 48V platform already underpins more than 11,000 EVs on Indian roads.  

On the occasion of World EV Day, of which Mahindra Electric is one of the founding partners, the homegrown EV manufacturer has announced the global launch of the Mahindra Electric Scalable Modular Architecture (MESMA) 48 platform for light EVs (three-wheelers, quadricycles, & compact cars). Capable of producing maximum power & torque figures of 40kW (53.6bhp) & 120Nm, respectively, the MESMA 48 platform can operate in the range of 44 – 96V and can help achieve a top speed of 80km/h. Mahindra Electric claims that apart from the battery cells, all components of the MESMA 48 platform are produced and assembled in-house.

Sharing his thoughts on the occasion of World EV Day, Mr Mahesh Babu (MD & CEO – Mahindra Electric Mobility) said, 'The journey towards a future driven by e-mobility is well underway. Our goal with EVs is to revolutionize first and last-mile transportation globally and take e-mobility to the masses. World EV Day is a great forum for us to discuss the next big ideas for the global markets, and we take this opportunity to launch our MESMA 48 platform globally.'
