Mahindra Thar Armada 5 Door Spied Testing Ahead of Launch, Shows Dual Tone Alloy Design
Mahindra is expected to introduce the much-awaited Thar 5-door SUV in India on August 15. Most likely, the SUV will cost between Rs 12.50 lakh and Rs 18.50 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.

Mahindra is expected to launch the highly anticipated Thar 5-door in India on August 15. According to several market reports, the SUV will go by the name of Armada, which the company patented last year. However, before its official debut, the SUV has once again been spotted undergoing testing with new dual-tone silver and black alloy wheels. The 5-door Armada will have the same boxy design as its predecessor, with a longer wheelbase and two more rear doors. Aside from minor cosmetic alterations, it will look similar to its three-door counterpart. The higher-spec variants will have alloy wheels, while the base model will feature steel ones, based on the previous spy images. Mahindra Thar Armada 5 Door: Interior Features
According to multiple spy images, the Thar 5-door will have a few additional features over the Thar 3-door, including a larger infotainment screen with improved graphics. Mahindra hasn't officially stated anything, but the infotainment system's screen could be 10.25 inches in size. Other noteworthy features may include a six-speaker sound system, dual-zone climate control, roof-mounted speakers, cruise control, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, wireless charger, type-C USB charging ports, front parking sensors, a rear centre armrest, and rear AC vents. The SUV is expected to get six airbags, an electronic stability control (ESC), a reversing camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for safety.
Mahindra Thar Armada 5 Door: Engine
The Mahindra Thar 5-Door will likely have the same engine choices as the 3-Door, which includes a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel. The former produces 150bhp and 320Nm, whereas the latter generates 130bhp and 300Nm. The transmission options may include both 6-speed manual and automatic options.

Mahindra Thar Armada 5 Door: Price and Competitors
In terms of price, the SUV is expected to range between Rs 12.50 lakh and Rs 18.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door in the home market.
