Mahindra Thar Roxx SUV Teased Again Ahead of India Launch on August 15

The official launch of the Mahindra Thar Roxx is scheduled for August 15, 2024. With just a few weeks remaining before its arrival on the Indian market, the manufacturer has released a new teaser providing more information about the stylistic changes. The new Thar Roxx will be much longer, with two additional doors and a longer wheelbase. The lifestyle off-roader has received appealing design elements in the form of circular fog lights, blacked-out door handles, a freshly designed grille, updated LED headlights, newly designed alloy wheels, and reworked taillights. Moreover, the 5-door model feels a little more upscale thanks to the dual-tone ORVMs. Here's a look at the latest Thar teaser from Mahindra.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Powertrain Options

The 5-door Thar Roxx will be available with three engine options: a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, a 2.2-litre diesel engine, and a new 1.5-litre diesel unit. The engine options are expected to come mated to either an automatic or a manual gearbox. The Thar Roxx, like its three-door sibling, is slated to receive rear-wheel drive as standard and 4WD as an optional feature.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: The Feature Set

As evident from the previous spy photographs, the new Thar will sport beige upholstery. On the feature front, it will most likely feature a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, keyless entry with push-button start, USB type-c charging ports, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, manual day/night IRVM, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a 360-degree camera. The forthcoming Mahindra SUV is also expected to have up to six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, and ADAS for safety.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Expected Price Range

The Mahindra Thar 5-door's ex-showroom price may vary from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. Upon launch in India, it will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the Force Gurkha 5-door. All three models will have varying price points, with significant overlap. Considering the price, the new Thar will also serve as an alternative to the MG Astor, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Skoda Kushaq.
