The new Mahindra XEV 9S is offered in seven colour options: Nebula Blue, Stealth Black, Ruby Velvet, Midnight Black, Desert Myst, and Everest White.

Mahindra has launched the much-awaited XEV 9S at its ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru, with prices starting at Rs 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The XEV 9S, based on the INGLO platform (also underpins the BE 6 and the XEV 9e), is Mahindra’s first three-row electric SUV. It has a brisk 0–100km/h acceleration time of 7 seconds and a top speed of 202km/h. Design-wise, the XEV 9S makes an immediate impression with its aggressive Born Electric identity.
The front is highlighted by a seamless LED light bar, while the side looks striking with sculpted, aero-optimised alloy wheels. Other prominent elements include Sharp L-shaped DRLs, a distinctive triangular headlamp arrangement, and LED taillights. The XEV 9S comes in multiple variants (Pack One, Pack Two, and Pack Three), covering different battery options. Bookings for the 7-seater XEV 9S will open on January 14, 2026, while customer deliveries are scheduled to begin on January 23.
The XEV 9S’s Pack One Above trim is available with either a 59kWh battery, priced at Rs 19.95 lakh, or a 79kWh battery priced starting at Rs 21.95 lakh. The Pack Two Above variant costs Rs 24.45 lakh for the 70kWh option and Rs 25.45 lakh for the 79kWh option. At the top end, the Pack Three trim, offered exclusively with a 79kWh battery, is priced at Rs 27.35 lakh, while the Pack Three Above variant with the same battery is priced at Rs 29.45 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
The XEV 9S is based on Mahindra's tried-and-tested INGLO platform that features intelligent adaptive dampers paired with an i-Link setup at the front and a 5-link independent system at the rear. It supports an advanced LFP battery that comes with a lifetime warranty and delivers a real-world driving range of up to 500 km. Other highlights include a brake-by-wire system with IEB and a high-power steering unit equipped with Variable Gear Ratio (VGR).
The XEV 9S is available with different battery options, based on the variant selected. The Pack One Above trim can be had with either a 59kWh or 79kWh battery. As for the charging, the XEV 9S can be charged from 20 to 80% in 20 minutes using a 180 kW DC charger for the 79kWh pack and a 140 kW DC charger for the 59kWh variant.

The Pack Two Above debuts a 70kWh battery option. It is also available with a larger 79kWh battery. The 70kWh battery pack can be charged from 20% to 80% in 20 minutes using a 160 kW DC charger. Meanwhile, both the Pack Three and the Pack Three Above versions are offered with solely a 79KWh battery. The XUV 9S produces 228bhp with the 59kWh pack, 241bhp with the 70kWh pack, and 282bhp with the 79kWh pack, while torque remains consistent at 380 Nm across all models.
The 59kWh pack has a claimed MIDC range of 521 kilometres, and an expected real-world range of around 400 kilometres. The 70kWh variant increases the claimed range to 600 kilometres, and an estimated 450 kilometres in real-world conditions. Meanwhile, the 79kWh pack boasts a claimed MIDC range of 679 kilometres, and a real-world range of 500–550 kilometres.
The electrified XUV 9S is a feature-packed SUV from Mahindra. It boasts triple 12.3-inch screens, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, built-in Amazon Alexa, and a BYOD in-car experience, along with connected features via the Me4U app, including cabin precooling, scheduled charging, and remote commands. The SUV also includes a 16-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos, NFC key, and dual wireless charging for front and rear.
It also features second-row sliding seats featuring a 60:40 split and multi-step recline, a spacious frunk (150 L) and trunk (up to 527 L) with a drain hole and light, one-touch driver power window, auto headlamps, rain-sensing smart wipers, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated first-row seats, 6-way powered adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, height-adjustable driver seat and seat belt, rear wiper and demister, push-button start, and powered Boss Mode.

As for safety, the Mahindra electric car comes with up to seven airbags (including a driver knee airbag), a 360-degree camera, a blind-view monitor, front parking sensors, and Level 2 ADAS. Do note that the feature availability varies depending on the model selected.
