Mahindra has announced that cumulative bookings for the newly launched XEV 9S and the XUV 7XO surged to 93,689 units, translating into a booking value exceeding Rs 20,500 crore (based on ex-showroom prices). Notably, the milestone was achieved within just four hours of bookings opening (between 10 am and 2 pm) on January 14, 2026, making it one of the highest single-day booking tallies ever recorded by the brand. Deliveries of the new Mahindra SUVs will roll out in a phased manner across dealerships. While the XEV 9S is slated to reach customers starting the week of January 26, 2026, the deliveries for the AX7, AX7T, and AX7L variants of the XUV 7XO have begun for customers who pre-booked. Buyers of the AX, AX3, and AX5 models can expect deliveries starting in April 2026.
The Mahindra XEV 9S comes with three battery options (59kWh, 70kWh, and 79kWh), spread across different variants. The entry-level 59kWh pack produces 228bhp and has a claimed MIDC range of 521 kilometres. Meanwhile, the 70kWh variant delivers 241bhp and a range of 600 kilometres. The higher-spec 79kWh battery generates 282bhp and has a claimed range of 679 kilometres. The torque, however, is the same at 380Nm across all variants.
The Mahindra XUV 7XO keeps the engine lineup of the XUV700. Petrol variants run on a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that delivers 197bhp of maximum power and 380Nm of peak torque. They can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic, and only front-wheel drive.

Diesel variants, on the other hand, feature a 2.2-litre engine that delivers up to 182bhp and 450Nm, and is available with a 6-speed manual or automatic. The Mahindra XUV 7XO diesel offers both front-wheel and all-wheel drive options.
The XEV 9S starts at Rs 19.95 lakh for the 59kWh Pack One Above variant, and reaches up to Rs 29.45 lakh for the Pack Three Above 79kWh variant. Meanwhile, the XUV 7XO is priced between Rs 13.66 lakh and Rs 24.11 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
