Maruti Suzuki has updated the Celerio by making six airbags standard across all variants, enhancing the car's safety features. This move aims to meet evolving safety requirements and cater to growing customer demand for better protection. Prices for the hatchback have been revised, starting at Rs 5.64 lakh and reaching up to Rs 7.37 lakh, with hikes varying from Rs 16,000 to Rs 32,500 depending on the variant. Prices are ex-showroom. It is worth noting that Maruti Suzuki had already made six airbags a standard inclusion in the 2024 models of the Swift and Dzire. The carmaker has not officially stated the exact reason for the price hike. However, it is possibly linked to increasing production expenses resulting from a surge in raw material prices. Despite the increased cost, the improved safety features are expected to appeal to buyers looking for affordable yet safer options in the compact hatchback segment.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio: Price Hike

The Celerio has now become the most budget-friendly car in India to feature six airbags as standard. After the recent price adjustment, the entry-level LXI variant is now priced at Rs 5.64 lakh, marking an increase of Rs 27,500.

The VXi MT and VXi CNG MT versions have gone up by Rs 16,000, while the VXi AMT saw a hike of Rs 21,000. Both the ZXi MT and ZXi+ MT trims now cost Rs 27,500 more. Interestingly, the price of the ZXi AMT remains unchanged, but the ZXi+ AMT has risen by Rs 32,500, bringing its new price to Rs 7.37 lakh. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio: Powertrain

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio features a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder K-Series petrol engine that generates 66bhp of maximum power and 89Nm of peak torque, mated to either a five-speed manual gearbox or an AMT. In the CNG version, the engine is detuned to produce 56bhp and 82.1Nm of torque and is available solely with a five-speed manual transmission.

The popular hatchback is notable for its impressive fuel efficiency. The petrol manual variant offers up to 25.24km/l, whereas the petrol-AMT delivers up to 26.68km/l. The CNG option provides an impressive efficiency of 34.43km/kg, as certified by ARAI.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio: Feature Suite

On the feature front, the model offers steering-mounted audio controls, a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a push start/stop button, AGS technology, and keyless entry.
