Maruti Suzuki has put the e Vitara on sale in India with prices starting at Rs 10.99 lakh under a battery subscription plan. This is the brand’s first electric SUV for the local market and it signals a clear move into the EV space. The model will be sold through Nexa showrooms across India, and bookings are now open for buyers ready to switch to electric. Deliveries will begin in phases, with production taking place in India for both local sales and exports. The e Vitara sits in the compact SUV segment and targets buyers looking for an electric option with familiar Maruti Suzuki support.

Battery usage will be billed separately on a per-kilometre plan at Rs 3.99 per km, which keeps the entry price lower and lets owners pay for usage as they drive across cities and highways.
The e Vitara carries a design that stays close to what was shown earlier in concept form. It gets a closed grille, slim LED headlamps and a squared stance that suits an SUV.

Alloy wheels, roof rails and body cladding add to the look, while the rear gets connected tail lamps and a roof spoiler. It sits on a new electric platform that will support more EVs from the brand in the future.
Inside, the cabin gets a clean layout with a twin-screen setup. There is a digital instrument display and a large touchscreen for infotainment. The SUV supports smartphone connectivity and connected car tech.

You also get automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls and a rotary drive selector on the centre console. Safety systems include airbags, stability control and driver assistance tech depending on the variant.

The starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh applies to the entry version with the battery subscription model. Higher variants with the bigger battery and more features will cost more. With the e Vitara now on sale, Maruti Suzuki finally steps into the electric SUV space in India and sets the base for more EVs that will follow on the same platform in the coming years.
