Grand Vitara Facelift Spy Front Quarter

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 7-seater has been spotted undergoing testing in India, sparking excitement among automotive enthusiasts. The new variant of the popular SUV is expected to offer enhanced space and comfort, making it a compelling option for families and larger groups. The spy shots reveal a design that takes inspiration from the E-Vitara, featuring a more contemporary and stylish front fascia, along with sleek, modern elements. With its spacious interior and advanced features, the three-row Grand Vitara is set to cater to the growing demand for bigger, more versatile SUVs in the Indian market. This model aims to build on the success of its 5-seater counterpart while offering an elevated driving experience.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Facelift: Key Highlights

The on-sale Vitara, launched in September 2022, has been overdue for a facelift for quite some time. Reports from the previous year revealed that Maruti Suzuki was working on a seven-seat version of the Grand Vitara, identified by the codename Y17. Despite the test vehicle being thoroughly covered, certain distinguishing features suggest it is a variant of the Grand Vitara.

Although the test vehicle is heavily camouflaged, clear hints of design changes can be seen. The front has likely undergone minor revisions, keeping the split-LED headlights, with the DRLs positioned higher and the main lights lower on the bumper. The overall design seems inspired by the Suzuki E-Vitara, an electric version, revealed last month. Furthermore, the alloy wheels likely sport a new design, and the rear might feature connected taillights. The brake lights remain at the edges, similar to the current model, but seem to be updated for a more contemporary look.

The cabin of the 7-seater variant has also been partially revealed. While most parts remain hidden, a large, vertically oriented central touchscreen can be seen. Notably, this screen appears larger than the one present in the regular Grand Vitara. The air-conditioning vents and controls beneath the screen appear to be identical to the current model. Moreover, the dashboard layout will likely be revamped as well.

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 7-seater will feature the same powertrain options as the existing model. The SUV comes with two engine choices: a 1.5-litre mild hybrid unit and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid unit. The mild hybrid generates 102bhp, while the strong hybrid puts out 114.4bhp of maximum power. The latter is equipped with self-charging technology and offers three driving modes: pure EV, hybrid, and petrol. Transmission options include a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic for the mild hybrid, whereas the strong hybrid is paired solely with an e-CVT. Additionally, a CNG variant is available, utilising the 1.5-litre mild-hybrid mill, producing 86.6bhp and 121.5Nm of torque.

Though the majority of the details are under wraps, the facelifted Grand Vitara is expected to launch next year. Upon arrival, the SUV will continue to rival the likes of the Toyota Hyryder, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, and Hyundai Creta.
