Maruti Suzuki Swift automatic now available in top variant

The Swift now comes with Maruti’s AGS automatic gearbox in top variants.

Maruti Suzuki has finally succumbed to the demands of consumers who have been demanding the Swift in its highest trim option to have an automatic transmission.

Both the petrol ZXI+ and diesel ZDI+ variants of the third-generation Swift will now be offered with Maruti’s AGS auto gear shift option. This was not offered at the launch, as the automatic was only reserved for the VXI, ZXI, VDI and ZDI trims.

The 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine and the 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine will now be offered with the 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) in its fully loaded spec.

The top spec Swift comes loaded with LED Projector headlamps with LED DRLs and auto on/off function, diamond cut alloy wheels with black accents, SmartPlay infotainment system with navigation and voice command and reverse parking camera, in addition to many other features All of this was previously only offered to customers with a manual gearbox, however, due to the increasing demand for automatic transmissions in India, Maruti has now launched the automatic version as well.

R. S. Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India, said, ‘With the latest evolution, the all-new Swift has reached the next level of customer delight. AGS has been very well appreciated by our Swift customers. We had customer feedback seeking the convenience of AGS in the high-selling top-end variants. Accordingly, we are now offering AGS in the top-end ZXI+ and ZDI+ variants.’

The Swift ZXI+ AGS is priced at ₹7.76 lakh and the ZDI+ AGS is priced at ₹8.76 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
