Maruti Suzuki Victoris comes in petrol, CNG, and hybrid options, entering the C-SUV battle with Creta, Seltos, Taigun, Kushaq, Astor, and Elevate.

Maruti Suzuki has revealed the new Victoris mid-size SUV ahead of its launch in the market. The Victoris is the company’s first SUV to include ADAS and has also received a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, joining the Dzire in this category. It comes with a powered tailgate that can be opened using gesture control. The Victoris is offered in ten colour options, including two new ones, and comes in six trims: LXI, VXI, ZXI, ZXI(O), ZXI+, and ZXI+(O). The company hasn’t shared the price yet, but it has revealed the mileage for each drivetrain.

The petrol version uses a 1.5-litre K-Series Dual Jet Dual VVT engine that produces 102bhp and 139Nm of torque. It can be paired with a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox. The manual has a claimed efficiency of 21.18km/l, while the automatic delivers 21.06km/l. The All-Grip all-wheel-drive version is rated at 19.07km/l and provides added traction on rougher surfaces.

For buyers looking at running costs, the Victoris S-CNG variant produces 87bhp and has a claimed mileage of 27.02km/kg. The 55-litre CNG tank is placed under the boot floor so the luggage space remains usable. This version is offered with a manual transmission.

There is also a strong-hybrid version developed with Toyota. It combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 92bhp with an electric motor and an eCVT gearbox. This variant has the highest efficiency in the line-up, with a claimed 28.65km/l.

With options across petrol, CNG, and hybrid, the Victoris is positioned to compete with models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, and Honda Elevate in the C-SUV segment.
