Maruti Suzuki Wagon R facelift to be launched soon

We shall soon be saying ola to the new 2022 Wagon R!

In the coming week, Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the next-gen Baleno hatchback. The company has been teasing the same on its social network handle. However, following the launch of the 2022 Baleno, Maruti Suzuki is likely to reveal the updated Wagon R. The changes will mostly be skin deep, as this is a mid-life makeover for the hatchback.

The updates will mainly include a restyled grille and a new set of alloy wheels. The hatchback will sport new colour schemes, and some variants will be offered with a dual-tone colour option as well. That being said, the overall appearance of the hatchback will stay the same as the outgoing model on sale.

The interior will mostly be offered in a different theme, but the overall dashboard layout will be the same as the outgoing model. The feature list could be the same as before; however, expect a few minor additions to justify a mild price increase.

The new and updated Maruti Suzuki Wagon R will seek Rs 10,000 – 15,000 more than the price of the current model. The outgoing Wagon R is priced between Rs 5.18 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 6.58 lakh (ex-showroom).

The engine options will be the same as well, which includes a 1.0-litre NA petrol, powering the lower variants, and a 1.2-litre NA petrol. Both engines will be offered with a choice of an AMT, and some variants will continue to be powered by CNG. It will be interesting if Maruti Suzuki manages to combine the efficiency of the CNG and the convenience of an automatic. 

We shall soon find out the launch date of the new Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, which is most likely to be in March 2022.
